potentially when fit Celtic would have a midfield of McGeady, Scott Brown, Juarez and Joe Ledley. Ferry wouldn't get close to that midfield. I do think Celtic are weak at LB/RB as well. Mulgrew looked dreadful for them in the Emirates Cup.

And Cuthbert Bob...surely could have played at the back when fit?

I am at a loss to why Celtic have got shot of these two.....along with Cuthbert.
Wonder if the Celtic fans seem it strange..they look as good as anything they got at present.

Been reading a few celtic forums lately for some views and 90% seem to think that Caddis won't be anywhere near the 1st team up there this season and more are worried in losing Ferry than Caddis.

A few seem to think we got off lightly in getting them at the price we did but in the main they seem to think they got rid of them because
a. they are over the age of 21 so cannot be used in the Euro Cup as HG players, I don't fully understand this ruling so don't know.
b. they seem to think they will leave now for money rather than the end of the season on freebies.
c. Celtic need all the money they can get from transfer fees as they are not as flush as they used to be.

fair point. Ferrys a good player but he wouldnt break into that midfield unless he improved quite a bit.

Although there are rumours that McGeady is on his way and Scott Brown is a target for Celtic's feeder club Middlesbrough.

This is a real problem for Scottish football.  The reason that Ferry and Caddis are expendable is because there is now no system whereby young and potentially very good (but not necessarily tip-top) players can get game time, so what happens?  Their potential is seen by lower league English clubs like STFC, they come down here, do extremely well and then move up the English system, and who is likely, if there is a chance of success in the EPL, to return to the SPL?  It is worse for Scottish players than it is for England, where at least there is a good reserve and youth set-up at most clubs.  That has its problems, as is being discussed in the thread about Tozer and other young players who just disappear, but at least they have the chance, if they are managed properly.
