He has been mentioned as a potential target quite regularly over the last few weeks in fairness. He had a pretty good run at Bournemouth and Stockport but in the last 5 years his scoring record has been, to use Gazza/Fatbury's terminology, distinctly 'underwelming'.

I think the fact that he has ended up at Oldham shows how good he is.
