Don't forget to put a baked bean can round the exhaust No chance Not doing the whole huge back box and other stuff. No much will help it be less boring but I got to try. Thinking of smaller wheels anyways. Only reason I got them was my mate was going to scrap them and sold them to me for £10 And the only reson I got the escort is because i got it off my cousin for £100

Bought my new car today, finaly found a VW Golf, a car i have loved since i dont know when. 52 Plate 1.8 GTI Turbo. 150BHP 0-60 8.2 Secs (but can be done in 7.8 alegedly) top speed 138mph. BEAST!!
Should have gone for a vr6 or modernised r32. My Rover VI does 0-60 in 7.3. 1.8 VVC engine. As light as fook. Saying that, in comparison to looks I'd take your beast anyday!

What do you mean by modernised r32? An R32 is has only been about for the last 2 generations of the golf and the VR6 hasn't been around for donkeys. With regard to an old VR6 over a GTI, it'd have to be the GTi everytime. The age of the VR6 and the fact it'll have been ragged all it's life will mean it'll have bugger all over the turbo'd GTI, in fact it's pretty much a given to have lost it's fizz. It also doesn't have that issue of a big heavy lump up front and the same FWD set-up. I think a GTI would eat it alive every time, especially through the corners. I think you've made a great choice chubbs. I love VWs.

A VR6 would wipe the floor with the Turbo especially a highline. I have seen it with my own eyes. Only the R32 will fend one off at top end.
As said a GTI everytime owing to looks and class.

Yeah, a decent well looked after one would be quicker, as well as pulling harder at licence loosing speeds and 50-70, but you have to remember it's gonna be over 10 years old and most are gonna be treated like shit, so therefore will be so down on power it will be embarrassing. My car is 10 years old and is serviced every year. It's nowhere near as punchy as it was, noticeably so. (Also, the one you link to is modified with a supercharger, so is obviously gonna be quicker, as well as more expensive.) Like this one...

Years ago my Geordie mate kept on about 'Charvers' - kinda similar to Pikeys; I had never heard the phrase before. Then from nowhere sprung the prase 'Chav'. Does 'Chav' come from 'Charver'? I aint seen my mate for a while so can't ask him.
