Something's wrong with me and it all stems from the second leg at Charlton...

That night was so euphoric and like i've said before it was like years of pent up anger, frustration and emotion of watching STFC came flooding out at the final whistle..

But since then I've failed to get excited about a match. Playoff final didn't feel like a final, and in a weird way altho obviously disappointed I wasn't down in the dumps too much after losing.

The World Cup's on and despite the odd celebration when a minnow scores i've not been overly excited (I know the quality's not been great) by it, especially England games.

Following the England shambles last night, everyone seems to be outraged and moaning left right and centre. Screaming at the TV's, shouting, swearing, getting really rilled up about the games. People are getting excited in the build up to the games, just like i could barely sleep the night before the Charlton game...

But for me even when England drew last night I was still like, oh well, next game. I felt nothing?

I think that second leg game will be the best footballing moment and worst for me, best because of the atmos and what happened and worst, because it's ruined every game since.

You're over thinking this a tad aren't you?

Surely you don't need to go far beyond remembering that Swindon were shit at Wembley and England have been shit in South Africa! So that's only three games since Charlton! Watching as a neutral is never as fun.

Mr. Gordon I know exactly how you feel, however i know what cures this. When a team you give a shit about wins it all comes flooding back, when Mexico did France 2-0 I was leaping around my front room.

Dont worry it comes back.

I can't wait for August 7th now. I've had enough of the WC to an extent. I'd been enjoying it until last night. Would rather it just ends now though so we can just focus on the proper stuff again.

I know it'll come back at some point, the World cup from a neutral view point came at the wrong time. Roll on August 7th.

I don't get that excited any more and haven't for a while, though that's mainly deliberate as I used to get so worked up it would make me feel ill. But having said that I'm enjoying watching football a lot more than I ever have before.

How old are you 5? You sound like one of those kids Louis Theroux would visit.

I can empathise with the feeling, I don't think Wembley really ever felt real to me.

Hopefully winning 5-0 at home on the opening day will help!

That's probably an accurate description (other than the age) as I was going through a rough patch back then.

interesting one this as immediately post wembley I felt all 'footballed out' due to us losing but have subsequently watched the majority of WC games. However, I do know where Flash is coming from as the minor disappointment from last nights game brought back the same frustrated feelings with football that followed our defeat at Wembley.

Don't think the fixtures coming out the last few days has helped as I have been thinking what might have been....

ah well, football eh....cant live with it, cant live without it.
