To be announced next week. Gutted he went there, but it's a typical Coppell club.

Good Luck Sir Steve.

In what way? He prefers average size clubs (Palace, Reading, Brighton..) and Bristol City is a perfect fit for him. Similar expectations and budgets as he had here at Reading. He'll do a good job there!

I have absolutely no interest in discussing this. My comment was a beautifully short, petty, throwaway comment which summed up everything I wanted to say Smiley

Coppell can't handle the pressure at big clubs with big expectations. How long did he last at Man City before he flipped and resigned? About a week wasn't it? Bristol City is a good fit for him though I still think they made a mistake getting rid of Johnson.

They got rid of him due to huge backroom disturbances, the players revolted against him and refused to play for him...he had to go.

What jjedmunds said, and it was about 30 days all in all.

It's hung over him ever since, and unfairly. His only faults are he's far too nice, and too loyal to certain players. Terrific manager though, and a lovely guy as well.

Latest rumours are that he will decide on his future at the end of the season. Bristol apparently being penny pinchers. If you want the best manager outside the Premiership, you have to pay for it! Wankers!!

I just had a look at the comments section on otib and some of them are just hilarious.

Talk about City fans having delusions of grandeur. They seem to think that any Reading
player would sign for them, that they'll go on a spending spree this summer and this quote
sums them up on possible summer signings...

"Commons and Tyson are not good enough anymore, at least not for our ambition".

It all reminds me of Ipswich fans having the same reaction 1 year ago,to Roy Keane's arrival.

Coppell if he does join City,is of course a far better manager than Keane.
