 Back in the 80's and before, when Swindon's supermarkets consisted of Tesco and Sainsbury in the Town Centre and they closed at 5, and weren't open Sunday, it was proper nightmarish.

Old Town had the Co-Op which occupied a couple of shops in Wood Street...the skills acquired in surviving a rammed terrace, where you'd just get lifted off your feet, then deposited somewhere else essential.

It's now a piece of piss..
