I guess the thinking was ease of eurostar. as a group we've bbeen to spain, amsterdam, prague, talinn, ireland, hamburg, so just fancied summat different. The stag is a bit retiscent to go to eastern europe, so were looking at other avenues.

Just back from a stag in Dublin. F*cking ludicrously expensive. Great place though...

Someone else has already said it, but go to Belgium. Eurostar ticket to Brussels entitles you to free onward travel and Bruges, Antwerp or Ghent will adequately serve your needs. If bars with beer menus consisting of over 50-100 different brews sound like your kind of thing, then Belgium is your kind of place.

Alternatively, just all go down this bloke's local pub and get shit-faced. Never quite understood the modern need to inflict our mass piss-ups on the rest of the continent...

I once went on a stag weekend to Reims.  Spent the day getting trashed on cheap champagne and the evenings getting trashed on beer.  All of which means I remember very little about Reims.  Sorry.

Stade de Rheims, got to the European Cup Final in 56 and 59....I recall a great side Raymond Kopa, Juste Fontaine and Michel Hidalgo. They lost both times and fell away into Div 3 obscurity....

I'd have thought the rugby playing bit of France might have cottoned on to binge drinking, go somewhere like Angouleme, Agen, Castres, Carcassonne, Beziers or Tarbes.

I loves France....French are a bunch of cunts, but that's part of why I like them...too much Anglo/Americanism in the world is a bad thing.

France is a crap choice for a stag venue. You get a much better night out experience in Germany or Belgium than France. What about Brussels, Bruges or Antwerp?

I went to a stag do in Saint Malo once. Did the Portsmouth to St Malo overnight ferry. Which was fine getting pissed on the way out. Crap feeling hungover on the way back. I think St Malo was OK. It's a bit hazy in the noggin.

I've been through St Malo a few times, from memory, it's got a fine old looking old town wall going around it, which like much of the town was completely rebuilt after getting razed to the ground during the war. Not a place where many people hang about though.
