Cleaned my laptop tonight and I mean I dismantled most of it. I think the thing that has been slowing it down is all the dust which got on to the thermal pad of the chipset. Anyway all clean and flying now and 10 times quicker is no exaggeration.

So keep your laptop clean and dustfree unless you know a geek to open it up and clean it.
