Im asking you first mate as a Bangkok local but this could also be for anyone else with the knowledge. Have you ever had a suit made up for you in Bangkok?

Im off to wedding in Sept and need a suit. As i will be in Thailand/Vietnam in the next few weeks i was wondering if there was anywhere or any specific Tailors to visit or avoid.

If you are in the know, how much would i be looking at paying? (approx)

Avoid the Indian tailors like the plague. Also avoid anybody who says they'll do you one in 24 hrs as you'll want them to take time over it to do it properly.

I get my suits from the same guy each time and it costs me about 300 quid a pop. One of them is about 8 years old and still looks more or less new. I'll try to dig out his address for you, his place is easy to find.

If you wanna tailor made job then it's worth getting it done properly and not on the cheap, otherwise you'd be better of with an off the rack number.

Boss Apparels

925/6-8 Rama 1 Rd

Pratumwan

Bangkok

Take the SkyTrain to National Stadium, which is just after MBK shopping centre.
Exit from the right hand side of the station and the shop is almost by the stairwell.

Quality suits and shirts, which i had made when i lived in Bangkok and whenever i've revisited.
My friends and cousin who live and work there, all use him and find him to be excellent.

He'll keep your measurements onfile if you wish,so that if you want to reorder you can contact
him in advance of a return trip,or he'll ship worldwide. If you're waistline changes you can tell
him the amendments to be made!  Wink

Almost forgot Nochee.

The place I use is on Sukhumvit main Road, near Soi 18. I don't have the actual address but it is just a few metres walk from Soi 18. It is a Dioni tailor.

A tad more expensive than some others but very good quality.

Thankyou Bangkok Red and Alan.

I leave for Bangkok on Monday, cant wait to get there. I will have 36 hours to get myself measured up for a suit, eat a Massaman curry, get oiled up and massaged and get shitfaced on Koh San.

After that its a plane to Ho Chi Minh and up to Hanoi taking 2 weeks. (we are skipping Laos now)

Have either of you been to Hoi an in Veitnam? That is supposed to be the tailoring capital of Vietnam and also very good.

Im sorry that i cant bring you those Ginsters sausage rolls that you were after before, Bangkok. But im leaving from Sweden and theres nothing here worth having. Wierd country this is.
