I have a camcorder that I have taken small video's on probably only a few mins each - all of my little 'un - I would like to be able to perhaps remove a few frames that are crap and perhaps put the footage together and maybe have some sort of music playing in the back ground.

Now considering I have never done anything like this before and wouldn't know where to start, is this easy to do and where would I start ?

Also is there any freebie software I can download to do this as I haven't got the money to go buying expensive software ?

What Sam said. You should (?) already have Movie Maker if you have Windows, and its dead simple to use.
