windon Town Football Club is saddened to report the untimely passing of John Hathaway on Thursday morning.

His football career took him to Coventry City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Swindon Town, before coming back 'home' to Fairford Town. He played regularly for Fairford from the late eighties through to early in the new millennium.

A thoroughly good guy, John was enthusiastic about his football and loved coaching youngsters, something he continued to do as a Swindon Town FC Centre of Excellence coach.

Everyone who knew John will have their own memories of him and will mourn his passing.

The Club wish to pass on their deepest condolences to John's family at this tragic time.

Once funeral arrangements are known these will be passed on.

John was 40 and married with three children.

Can't say I remember the guy as a player although I'm sure some of you do, but 40 years old is tragic.
