 right then, 2 queries : -

1) My cousin bluetoothed me a video clip (non-porn related obviously) that is coming through on my 2 and a quarter year old sony ericsson walkman (think its an w810i or something like that) as an mp4 file so I can hear it but cant see the footage. However, when I send it on via bluetooth to other phones they get to see the vid (other than in my mothers case as you will see in point 2 below) why?? and will I need to get a new phone in order to view the clip?!?!

2) I then bluetoothed the clip to my mum(surely proving it wasn't filth?!) but her fancy new samsung SGH-L810V although being able to receive the file, when I went to play it comes up with 'unsupported resolution'. Phoned vodafone about an hour ago and they weren't much help.

other than taking both phones into a shop tomorrow, I thought you techy guys on this forum would love the opportunity to help me out.... Cheesy

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/3GP_Converter.htm

Download that and convert the file. Works for me.

In answer to the first question, Bluetooth is just a way of copying the file between phones. Think of it a bit like copying a Microsoft Word file from a disk to your computer, it doesn't work because Word isn't installed on your computer, so you copy it to another disk and give it to someone else with a better computer that does have Word installed. It works

i.e. All you are doing is copying a file from one phone to another. Not changing it in any way.
