Along with, no doubt, middle aged veterans of 1990s anti-road protests, I still shudder at the mention of the word 'Newbury'.  Does this happen to anyone else?

Neither here nor there, really.  (I'm shuddering for a different reason than Swampy et al.)  I think Newbury is still blighted by the old road, though.  Has a road traffic network that's even poorer than Swindon's.

***old joke alert****

I heard on the news that "Swampy" had been taken to hospital with heart problems - they gave him a bypass.
