He is from Rhodesia not South Africa though.

It's a  Southern African accent. i.e any white person brought up in South Africa, Zimbabwe/Rhodesia, Botswana or even Zambia will talk pretty much the same way :roll:

That's true. As I said before the Zimbabwe (new name for Rhodesia) accent  is very similar to South African. I've seen a few clips from this film and his accent is pretty acccurate. It is a weird accent and if you've never heard a white Zimbabwean speak it's probably not what you'd expect.
