I had Itunes on my old PC, with Internet Explorer, but my new laptop has Windows XP. I want to put Itunes onto it and transfer all of the songs from my Ipod onto the Itunes.
I believe that this is possible, but do I run the risk of wiping all of the music off my Ipod?

Save the iTunes library onto a memory stick and then install iTunes on your new PC.
You can then import the library.

You can't copy from an iPod to a PC.
Apple won't let you for some reason.

You can't copy from an iPod to a PC. You can if you use a third party app like ephPod. I used it to rip all my tunes back to my PC after I formatted the hard drive. iTunes wouldn't recognised my iPod once I'd used it with ephPod, so I just reset the iPod. It wiped the iPod but because I'd already transferred my music to my PC I just sync'd it back to the iPod again.

I didn't know that. I've never used an ipod, wouldn't want something that limits how you can use it. After all I have windows for that :-))(

Looks good thanks. Just downloading Itunes onto my Laptop, will then download that and see if it works. I can't save my Itunes from my PC as my PC is currently broken Ralphy. Fingers crossed it works, got 6,500 songs on my Ipod and a further 20 or so new CD's to put into it.

ok, I got it to work using that CopyTrans software, however now I can't get Itunes to open. When I click on it, nowt happens and when I try to import nothing happens.
Any ideas?

I have never used Itunes, but as a general thingy. CTRL+ALT+DEL and make sure it's not already running but crashed. Firefox is good for doing that.

That was the problem, but I worked it out about 30 minutes after I posted. Thanks for taking the time out at that time in the morning to help me though.
