Taken from the Henley Advertiser...

“They had reached the stage where they needed to pay their last one, but just didn’t have the funds to do it. The club was founded in the 1880s and I just didn’t want to see it go into liquidation – I have a home there. I like sport and I just couldn’t see it happen.”
“I am a fan of the club and I listen to the games on the radio wherever I am – even in Barbados, where I spend much of the winter!”
“I think about what it will do for my children and grandchildren, especially as Swindon are doing so well – they are mid-table in League One at the moment and promotion to the Championship does not seem realistic.”

Surely he means 'unrealistic' otherwise that last sentence makes no sense.

So I wonder if he enjoys the Brunel commentary like we do then  - and how does he get Brunel in Barbados ?

Probably sends one of the servants with a mobile - "If it pleases Sir, Mr Roberts steps up to take a free kick..."

Or possibly having a £370m personal fortune means he can afford the 25 quid for the STFCWorld coverage. Although I prefer Orange's explanation - "the crowd are offering a brief but vociferous summary of the referee's early years, especially in relation to the circumstances of his birth"

He didn't get where he is today by spending £25 on STFC World that doesn't transmit commentary overseas. Waste of money that would be. I expect every match day he flies back to the closest point within Brunel's reception area and borrows someones log-in, saving himself £25 in the process. THAT'S how the rich get richer!

Doesn't work for me, and Triseros paid good money for that subscription.

Where's Triseros? Seems Russia, Thailand and Triserosland are being marginalised. So much for kicking racism out of football!

Spend all day reading about STFC. Except when I get bored then I count snowflakes, or beetroots in the summer.

Nothing really, I retired early and became a new age husband. Thought I'd found a Russian oil millionairess to save the club but turns out that Roza works for a large oil company and a million roubles is only £20K.
