just put an RFI dot inside the ball and sensors in the goalposts, when it goes over it makes a noise in the ref's ear or something.

I disagree with it all. Fair enough ref's make mistakes but they takes out the contraversy out the game. It removes the debate, the fury, the discussions down the pub...

it removes the decision of whether the ball crossed the line - the ref can still fuck it up in a myriad of other ways.

Please please can I be a penalty box assistant, as I really want to stand behind the goal for 90 minutes on a cold February evening in Grimsby.  Then get all sorts of abuse thrown at me when I award a penalty against the home team.

Imagine a Penalty box assistant stood in front of the town end and he gave a terrible decision against a town player.

Leave the game alone Michel, you were a genius as a player, but a retard as a rule maker.

Pah, that means the laws of the game will differ between the the pro and amature leagues, which would be a shame.

Jumper for goalposts, a beeping rf receiver, sony handycam sellotaped to the crossbar. No thanks.

As for more refs, no thanks for the same reason. It's already hard enough to get one ref for most local league games, let alone linos.

Without a ref, a game cannot be played, players and managers need more respect for refs.

That's the argument I always use...that from the bottom of the Swindon Sunday League to the World Cup final the rules are exactly the same...all the matches are connected, all are equal.

Not many other sports can claim that.

the rule should be that the goal only counts if the ball touches the back of the net.

not only is this a lo-tec solution, but also everyone would lash it as hard as they can and there will be better goals and football will be better.

who's going to say whether it hit the back of the net? what if it barely scrapes it on a windy day?
