surely Fitton can just postpone his holiday for a day if it a case of signing on Monday morning. part of me thinks he booked the holiday as a built-in deadline to make sure ssw knew when he had to have everything sorted out by.

A multi-million pound deal going to shit because you're going on holiday? i don't think so.

I'm amazed that people don't seem to have cottoned on to that fact before now. It's not like he's going on the razzle in Ibiza and is out of contact is it ?

The whole thing is brinkmanship. Be prepared (if the rumours are true) for a late amendment requiring a resurfaced driveway to be tabled.

Well quite, although apparently both he and a colleague have already delayed departure for their (separate) holidays by a day in the hope the deal could be done by Saturday.

If that's the only blocker, we can ring Mike Sullivan at Gillingham and ask if some of his new colleagues can help get it sorted. I hear they have a certain amount of expertise in that area.
