so its an english team then isn't it

I thought Mercedes owned a significant number of shares and so may influence driver selection, might be wrong.  But yes the team is technically British.

In an uninteresting link, a guy I went to uni with works for them, he's now part of the team in charge of the common ECU teams have to use next season.

Sorry to piss on the German's parade, but originally the Mercedes engine was developed and built by Ilmor, a British company founded by Mario Illien in 1984.

Mercedes do now own the entire company (as of 2005), now known as Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines Ltd. Still based in Northants, and I think that is where the F1 engine is manufactured. So, German owned but British built.
