Sorry Batch, whilst I agree with your sentiments that the team selection should have been completely different, my main bug bear is the fucking arrogance of the FA, arranging this friendly 5 days before the last qualifying game !!!!!!!

You have a point there.

Come on playing a friendly a few days before a must win match isn't that crazy.  If england had not have played this and then not come out of the starting blocks firing on all cylinders on Wednesday there would have been criticism for not getting the players together for a warm up match.

Owen's injury prone everyone knows it, if I were a Newcastle fan i'd be cursing my luck right now.  Another month without Owen...

Micah Richards is such a breath of fresh air compared to the dull boring if steady Gary Neville, Owens injury was/is down to the fact that he is now injury prone.

Truthfully they shouldnt have played it and just had a get together of the squad.

Then again Owens injury could just as easily have happened in a warm up game in training.

So who is up front on Wednesday then? Crouch and Defoe? Crouch and Smith?

Or are we going to play 4-5-1, shut our eyes and hope for a draw?  :?

Great weekend. I only paid £7 "to watch that dross", and was able to use it as an excuse to visit another city. Vienna is brilliant, especially in the snow.

Think its superb fans didn't get ripped off to watch the match.  Great prices.

If I could afford to go to all the england away games I would like Alex says - great to see new cities etc.
