They are tremendously well supported for a shite team Hardly shite are they though? What I meant was they haven't won anything for years (other than the league in 2002). Despite how big the place is, the lack of recent success make the attendences very impressive. Cannot see that many other clubs in Europe could match this.

Similar to Arsenal, Sunderland and Newcastle in that respect then. I do like Schalke though, great tradition. Most of the 'big' teams in the Bundesliga pretty much sell out every home game, it's just that Schalke have one of the biggest stadiums in the country. In many ways I wish England would take a leaf out of the Germans' book when it comes to watching football.

I got lost near Karlsruhe trying to get back to Luxembourg from a Kasabian gig in Srasbourg!! Fucking shitty roadsigns over here! An absolutely fabulous part of the world is Baden. Strassburg and Karlsruhe are pretty much either side of the Rhein.

Fucking hell Herman, I don't think you can really compare Arsenal with Newcastle and Sunderland in the 'lack of recent success' stakes. Its about 50 years since Newcastle won any sort of trophy, let alone the League (have they ever?), and didn't the Arse win the PL about 4 years ago??? Try comparing apples with apples next time

Arsenal's success in recent years is similar to that of Schalke's, and they get 60,000 every game, similarly Newcastle and Sunderland get massive gates yet haven't achieved anything since before christ. Better Scheissami?

I am sorry but there is no way Arsenal would get the gates that NUFC do if they hadn't won anything for decades
