That's a terrible thing to happen Mex. I assume the driver was driving like a prick from the tone of the message. I'd say I hope they throw the book at him, I do, but I honestly think punishment is far too soft these days. Puts life into perspective though. Fucking enjoy it because you don't know when your time is up.

I've got to be honest, I thought this was a wind up when I first read it, all seemed to bad to be true.
That's a nightmare for all involved.
Hopefully the driver will get sent down for a long long time!! Although as we're talking the UK judicial system here I doubt he will.

too many cars and bad drivers on the road. i would come down harder on bad drivers with instant bans for poor driving. the cunt that killed the family should be put down!

http://www.sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/docs/press_18feb03.htmlCausing Death by Dangerous Driving The standard of the offender's driving at the time of the offence should be the primary factor in determining the seriousness of an offence. The Panel recommends: 1 a short custodial sentence for an offence arising from a momentary error of judgment or short period of bad driving, where there are no aggravating features; 2 custodial sentence of 2-5 years when the standard of the offender's driving is more highly dangerous, e.g. aggressive driving or greatly excessive speed, or when the offender has consumed alcohol or drugs; 3 custodial sentence over 5 years, up to the maximum of 10 years, for the most serious offences, where the offender has driven with complete disregard for the safety of other road users and where other aggravating features are present. [/list] Factors that would increase the seriousness of an offence include: the death of more than one victim or serious injury to one or more victims in addition to the death; failing to stop or falsely claiming that one of the victims was responsible for the crash; and previous convictions for motoring offences, especially if they involved bad driving or the consumption of excessive alcohol before driving. Probably looking at 6-9 years prison and a very lengthy driving ban. Mex says he 'got caught' - does this mean he also failed to stop? If so it would be considered an additional aggravating factor. I guess the unborn child would also be considered a fatality. 6-9 years for 4 lives?

Murder would be deliberately driving into them and mowing them down....not entirely sure that's how it happened to be honest
Having said that I hope he gets a huge sentence
