Poor Ells. I can't say that I was friends with her or that I knew her, apart from sharing a common affection for all things STFC, but I'm saddened to hear this news because she was a genuinely nice girl. Like Ardiles, I briefly chatted with her last year, when her dad was terminally ill and just after, when he had died, to offer her some support as I had gone through something similar not long before.
We never know what is going on inside the heads of others, and I think that Ells would have been the first to say always try to be nice to people, because she was like that and she was always nice to people.

Never knew Ells, unfortunately. But, it sounds like as a person she got it right. Best to be remembered as as wonderful person above all else. Thanks Ells, for showing us the way.

Wasn’t her avatar on here a Robin kicking a yellow and blue tit off a bird table?
Good girl! Hope you’re loving it where you are now!

Beautifully put.

Didn’t know her at all beyond reading her posts on here when I first joined in, I don’t know, 2012, and occasionally since. She seemed like the kind of person that makes me regret not getting to know otherwise anonymous avatars in a more personal way. Clearly extremely well liked by people who actually knew her, however little they did know.
Very sad indeed. RIP

Over a lifetime there are people you are glad you never met; and then there are others you wish you had. Ells was definitely in the latter bracket. At least we can be sure COYRs is ringing round the heavens.

Very sad news. I didn't meet Ells in person but always enjoyed seeing her posts here. This place is worse off for her departure. My condolences to her family and friends. RIP

Only just seen this. Incredibly sad news and yep I allowed myself to express emotion. Only ever knowingly met ''Ells'' once and didn't realise it at the time
Online wise, like many of us, seemingly shared very many and similar outlooks on life. Ells annoyance and rants, at what would be considered trivial or even ''weird'' to many was definitely something I always just understood. Some people you genuinely just ''get''
Didn't know you well enough to call you a friend, I wish I could have though. Shit, we need to make a habit of saying things to people when they are alive :-/
Ells you always grabbed my attention here because as well as you being in a male dominated forum - you were one of the few who could out argue Reg and that was always saluted
If there is any way of passing on, or making aware any condolences here to Ells mum and any wider family, then that would be nice. You deserved a much kinder and more fruitful life but you were always one of the good 'uns. Sleep well x
