I've been a couple of times.....but both when it was a fine upstanding part of the Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia, with the dinar as currency..(same as the d in our old lsd)

  First time stayed in Split.....which was OK if you like dried sausages and women with moustaches.....wonderful scenery though if that's your bag.

 Second time was more travelling through....nearly 30 years ago now so all change no doubt and you'd hope for the better.
