The Football in the Community Trust has welcomed five visitors - 3 coaches and 2 young players - to the club for a three week visit from their partners in Livingstone, Zambia. This link is rapidly broadening out across the town and surrounding areas with six schools now linked with schools in Livingstone, the Central Library and the Museum considering links, together with the Catholic congregation at Holy Rood. Intel and other local businesses are supporting the link, including Green Machine, who recondition computers and give a proportion of them away to charities and community organisations.
If anyone would like to get involved, or thinks their business, school, college, sports club etc might be interested, come along to Christchurch Community Hall on Cricklade St on Easter Monday (21st) from 11am to 1230pm. The Zambian High Commissioner is visiting, and a number of those already involved, plus the visitors in Livingstone will be there to brief him and others from Swindon. PM me if you would like more information.
