Rate the song above you then add yours

I'm not musically disposed, but I know what I like. I don't coerce people into refracting their tastes into my narrow slot - and it really is a narrow band - neither do I like people to coax me into drinking from their musical schooner.

Here goes. I played this a few times at the weekend after hearing a spurt of it on the radio:

Keep to the rules please. Only comment on the previous poster's song choice, then add your own. Let the snobbery begin.

Oh, and I forgot, say why you like your choice. - I selected this song because it encapsulates what is happening to my beloved Swindon Town FC. A time of elation at the club brought to its knees through a lack of transparency and a dwindling sense of positive anticipation for the season ahead. The refrain of "What do you want from me", is applicable to messy relationships TOO, and how women can tread all over your emotions. The football club and women exerting undue influence on an unsteady soul who can't let go.

To make this easy.

Slate/berate/celebrate/fellate the previous poster's choice in music, do as you wish; then, post a song of your choosing, explaining what it means to you. It will then be critiqued by the next guy who will then post his own song choice, and so on and so on.

Good to hear that again. Thought that Monaco album was underrated, as were the superb Electronic. Any offspring of New Order was always worth listening to, even the recent Bad Lieutenant offering. I saw the Order recently here in Singapore and although it just ain't the same without Hooky, it was a still a good bit of nostalgia. Talking of which ...

Reminds me of days gone by. Town away, long summers, being off my tits, etc.

I felt the same when I saw them in Brum last year.

Think I might go and see Peter Hook And The Light, anyone seen them? 8th Nov in Reading, he's also doing Bristol on the 8th Sept but its the day before I am due to fly to Vegas.

Always worth seeing that low slung bass, though Hooky's lost a lot of respect since trying to sue the other members of New Order. Such a sad way to end for one of the greatest British bands ever. So much of what we hear today owes a debt to their fusion.

How about this for a new tune ...
