Part of me feels he shouldn't talk about ex-players like this, another part warms to him for telling it as he sees it. Won't accept any half-hearted players at the club: if you don't want us, we don't want you. To be honest I think Martin might struggle for a Championship team at the moment. Poor reward for the time and faith Di Canio put into getting him fit.

At least Di Canio's words seem to suggest part of him is still invested in the long-term interests of the club.

First comment is class - "Rooney is a better prospect" - is that the widely derided and until Saturday virtually excluded Rooney?

Well, "a better offer" was never going to sit right with PDC  was it. Shot, foot, hit.

To be honest, whilst looking tidy in passing we only saw glimpses of anything remotely Championship standard anyway. Not fussed, especially if we can still get BWP in.
