Have a picnic on the grass in front of the Royal Crescent, obvious but cheap.

Wait until the Jane Austen center shuts and follow home the bloke in period dress, shouting Edwardian insults at him

Has anyone got any suggestions for touristy things to do in Bath - bringing the missus down for her birthday with my 2 teenage kids. We will do the obvious Roman baths, but will have another 3 days to fill. Can anyone help?

Hop two stops up the GWR and take a town match in......

I don't think that was open when I lived there. If it's the place I'm thinking of, it was a Domino's by the time I left

When it was the Longacre it was pretty rough.  Murders and stuff happened there.  My mate lives in a flat opposite these days.  King William was good grub.  Overpriced but 'gastropub in Bath' isnt going to be cheap.

I was in Bath a few weeks back, great great place, the Royal Crescent had been taken over by the "Reclaim the Streets" mob: tents, person dressed as gorilla banging a tambourine, bet the snooty residents are loving it.

I think the Roman Baths are fairly expensive entrance fee, so as someone already mentioned, you might be better off putting the money towards going to the new Spa. Then you get to immerse yourself in the thermal waters. Far more preferable i.m.o

Just checked, from January it's £12.75 per adult, £8.50 per child, bit steep.

Important to note, having just perused the website, under 16's are not permitted into the Bath Thermal Spa

£26 for a 2hr session in the various pools and sauna rooms (Not cheap!)

It did seem like a bit of a rough area when I lived there.

Well, rough by Bath standards.

There are free tours, about 90mins in length that run from outside the Roman Baths, two per afternoon. Very much enjoyed that, not too history heavy, and tourguides with plenty of enthusiasm.

Find the Salamander, and drink Festivity.  A top drop from Bath Ales.

Read this post this morning and saw said bloke outside the little sainsburys near pizza hut earlier, I was tempted to do just that!

If its around about now, go ice skating just near the royal crescent.  Actually dont.  Its a bloody stupid idea.  Ive just been and now have a swollen knee due to a spectacular fall.  If I didnt already have a ruptured cruciate ligament, I would have ruptured it today.
