I glance at it as a guide when booking holidays and stuff, but you really need to read and not just go on the star ratings. Some people will have what I consider to be a trivial quibble with somewhere (oooh, we had to pay a tenner for a safety deposit box etc.), and go straight for the 1 star rating which is unfair and misleading.
