I think he'll get time to make some signings and see how they do before any action is considered. Its a poor three games for the gunners, but the board can't expect him to work miracles after selling their best two midfielders with no replacements coming in.

He's only got 3 days to make some signings...

But everybody seemed to know Fabregas was going, so why wasn't a player signed ready?
Wenger sounded like a guy in denial on the SSN interview.

To be fair, With Arsenal in seeming free fall it seems unlikely they would let their "Reserve team captain" leave on loan? Unless the whole reason its been delayed is because they are looking to sign someone before the window shuts if unsuccessful Boateng will step up?

There could only be 3 hours to deadline day and they could still sign 3 players. What's your point?

He could make signings before one or two bad results. I think IOB took your post too literally, I think you meant have time to sign some players and see how they do and if they will make a positive impact.

I'm sure I've read Wenger has been sitting on a large pile of cash for some time that is reserved for buying players but he refuses to spend it. The lack of signings is solely down to Wenger's buying policy and fuck all to do with the board. Arsenal have got no chance of competing with Chelsea and Man City, but if you look at the players Liverpool and Man Utd have been buying over the summer it shows there is quality in their price range and you really have to wonder why the fuck Wenger wasn't in for some of them.

Oh yeah, I did mean that. Sorry IOB. I'm sure I've read Wenger has been sitting on a large pile of cash for some time that is reserved for buying players but he refuses to spend it. The lack of signings is solely down to Wenger's buying policy and fuck all to do with the board.

Well yes I agree, as per my previous "I think Wenger is overrated" posts (in another thread). However in this case he has the valid argument of 2 good players being sold, and injuries (as Arriba pointed out). If he hasn't made signings in 3 days time, or if the signings are duds then Arsenal will be in for a disappointing season. Though I don't think the Fatbury school of "we could go down" panic should apply.

Wenger sounded like a guy in denial on the SSN interview.
He asked Danny Wilson what he'd do in the same situation.
