Nice guy and the brand of football he got us playing after the shite we'd been enduring for the previous few years was a breath of fresh air.  It's been posted a few times that he seemed well able to keep a good team going well, but couldn't turn a struggling side around and I agree with that.
I'm sure he'll be visiting us again with a different club in years to come and I certainly won't have the same feelings towards him as I used to when McMahon came back with Blackpool.

Thanks for the memories Danny (mostly) and good luck for the future.

I really liked Wilson, nice bloke and a decent manager. Came in 2 years ago when we were desperate and with some good signings kept us up. Last season he built a great side, we did the double over Leeds and Southampton and that night at Charlton was just incredible. This season hasn't been easy for him, he's made mistakes but the departure's of Greer, Paynter and Ward have really hit us hard.

I just can't help but think that the players have let him down badly this year.

Good luck Danny.

Saw some of the best football of my days last year. Absolute shame this season has gone so bad and feel for Danny.

He will be remembered by me as a good manager who was unlucky rather than a poor manager who was lucky.

not that memorable then Batch!

 Doh

Knew it was one of them young uns with the big bollocks. Ward scoring the (on agg) equaliser was pretty good too. Thenthe extra time and the near misses. Aaaaagh.

He will be remembered by me as a good manager who was unlucky rather than a poor manager who was lucky.

Nice way of putting it.

Id like to echo those sentiments.  I feel his resignation when he could have hung on or tried to get compo for being sacked showed a certain amount of honour that is not common in this bloody silly game we love.

He would have got fuck all (relatively speaking) as his contract ended at the end of the season. My guess is Fitton paid him up to the end of his contract any way. A good guy nonetheless.

My best memories as a town fan came under Danny, I loved him last year.

Shame it's turned out like this, wish you all the best Danny.

Exactly what I was coming here to say.
