Been recalled at the end of his loan speel with Torquay.  They are moaning that they got him fit and we now want him back.  Thought that was often the idea in a loan signing, especially the younger players who have been injured, give 'em games.

If he isnt going to get games here then he would have been better off staying there, assuming he was actually getting games down there.

Not heard owt about his spell down there.

Can't see the point of us calling him back as he's unlikely to get many minutes on the pitch. With 4 strikers we're more than covered up front and you'd think that Ritchie and Marshall are ahead of him for the wide positions (same for O'Brien if he is ever fit again).

Surely it would have been better leaving him there for longer so he could get a decent run of games?

We have wuite  few games coming up and injuries to attacking players, worth bringing him back to make sure we have a decent squad ready for the run in.

We now have 6 loan players (Ferry, Ward, Nouble, Darby, Sheehan and Ritchie) so assume Ritchie will be the one to miss out when everyone is fit so having Macklin as extra cover in the wide roles is fine with me.  We are at the business end of the season so need our strongest squad possible so that involves cover in every area.

if he does play a part in our promotion push i think it would be a great experience for him he can only grow as a player and who knows it might bring the best out in him.

I don't think he'll play for us again this season.

Would have been better for both Swindon and Macklin if he stayed there and got experience. I suppose he could well go out on loan again before Thursday.

Kept looking for him whenever Torquay's goal action came up - very rarely found him.
