Yeah, I dont know if you went to Nottingham Forest last season? But they had the Notts County bar open for us that day. It will be some manky back street working mans club.
The police phoned the coach company who we are travelling with and told them this would be happening.
Just saying because I think it could be quite bad up there saturday. Shame really as we were pretty accomodating to them, had really good banter in the Tap with a load of them early on in the season. Best pre home game Ive had for years.
That bar in Nottingham was a shithole and the coppers were arseholes too. No problem with away fans being kept relatively restricted, but we're not fucking animals.

As i'm going low key, i'm going to use the time bar opposite the station, unless this dodgy club is on.

Leicester fan says: any owned by Witherspoon's are open early, if you want 1 closer to the ground go to the Counting House on freeman's common (same site as Morrison's and the Odeon), about 5 mins walk from the ground __________________
So the Counting House it is.

The TIME bar is next door to the station, not opposite (turn right as you come out the station).
The New Road Inn used to be my local when I lived on Welford Road, but I reckon the Counting House would be better as it's bigger and has parking etc. I'm going up tomorrow lunchtime so might have a poke about and see what the deal is with away fans.

The comments about Braunstone Gate are about right, lots of drinking establishments, even the chip shop is licenced. Not sure about how many you'll get into wearing colours mind. For decent ale then the Criterion (about 15 mins walk) or the Swan and Rushes (about 5 mins walk) are best...although I don't know about the wearing of colours. Counting House is an alright Wetherspoons pub...you know exactly what you'll get.
As I'm not there Saturday, enjoy yourselves.

If I wasn't in Hong Kong, then yes. It would have been the first match I could ever have walked to from my house to watch my team...but then the missus booked a holiday. To be fair the only other times we could go it was stupidly expensive. Also volunteering with pandas. So not only do I miss the game, I have to pay someone so I can work...not sure about this. Maybe once I've seen we've been done 4-0 I'll be glad to be out of the country.

I have to say that chippy, Mario's, is fantastic. Chips, curries, kebabs all on and all really good. And as you say, a bar. Wonderul end to many a night I've had there. You are right about the football colours though.
