The addition of floodlights in 1951 at a cost of £350, gave Swindon the honour of being the first League club to do so.

The present pylons date from 1960.

Some day, when every club sits next to habitat and Curries, fathers will bring their kids to Swindon from all over the country and say, son thats what real football grounds used to look like.

If we get a new ground any time soon, or ever, I want it to have old skool floodlights. They make a football ground.
