You'll probably need a new ariel, the old analog terrestrial ariels can't pick up a freeview signal (digital).

If you have an old areal there is a smallish chance it will need replacing.

TV with scart is OK. Alternative is if you have a VCR/DVD recorder that has a scart input you can run it into that and from there to the TV via RF.

I've still got an old ariel that I paid a fiver for in my loft and a signal booster and I pick up freeview no bother.

Depends on signal strength - we had to replace our aerial to get Freeview, old one wasn't up to it, and boosters didn't work. On the upside we can now intercept Russian embassy communications to Putin and alien transmissions from space
