If Sturrock does indeed go, what, if anything, does this say about the current takeover?
If it's as close as we've been told, why would he leave? If the takeover is miles from being finalised (If ever) and Sturrock knows this, I don't blame him if he does a runner, but if the deal is finalised next week and he still goes, it will show that for all his words he's no different to Wise.
If that's the case, thanks for the promotion Paul, but don't expect any hero status at SN1............................

I don't think to much can be read into the takeover if PS goes. He was popular at Plymouth, liked the area and has said before he would like to go back there at some point (just hopefully not now!)

I think it may be silly to put the 2 together at the minute. Sturrock has been patient. He has been told its close to going through, it is taking longer than expected. I therefore think even if it is going through he may think "well Ive heardt this before Im gone" I dont think his leaving would have anything to do with the status of the takeover. Even if we had new owners he would leave for plymouth IMO as he has stated he loved it there.

He has publicly stated that he wanted to put down roots in Swindon. He has publicly said we have the potential to be a much bigger club, given investment. He has publicly said that Fitton is someone he could work with. He has brought players to the club by persuading them that we are going places, I don't think those players thought he meant by going places it was him to Plymuff! As I said, if the takeover doesn't happen next week I don't hold it against him. But if it does and he goes anyway, to me he'll just be yet another bullshitter. That's if he does go. As he hasn't yet. And the Daily Mail is a shit paper............

Wasn't one paper a few months ago stating that Paul Sturrock had left Town and had gone to Leicester after Allen was sacked!
I see that paper was spot on!! :-))(
I'll believe it when it happens (if it happens!)

If the takeover happens, new employer. If the takeover doesn't happen, need a new employer.
I would have been very disappointed if/when Paul Sturrock leaves, except that there are quite a few out currently there who could do a wonderful job at STFC. No, definitely not Martin Allen.
Whatever happens, good luck Mr. Sturrock. Perhaps we should just play "Going Home" by Mark Knopfler for you. It is Plymouth "Argyle" after all.

To be honest i think Sturrock will damage his legend reputation at Plymouth, last time he was there he worked miracles and took them up into the championship, this time what can he do there? they are currently 4th and the only way for them is down! They are never going to get into the premierleague and i can see them struggling and possibly being relegated within 2-3 seasons, if Sturrock does a bad job there his legend status may well disappear, as they say in football never go back, he should have waited a few more years yet before going back to Plymouth.
Regarding the takeover i am not confident at all, this board has made me think negatively regarding these kind of things, i really hope that it goes through but if on monday it is not completed and it starts getting delayed then you know there are problems, also if the 30th november thing is true and the takeover is not sorted out by then we could land ourselves a points deduction as well as possibly the inland revenue and other creditors winding us up, if it goes through i think we have a bright future with no debts and a new board, if it fails STFC die's it's as simple as that now.

Again the takeover is a done deal (just like Sturrock to Plymouth). Everything will be OK don't worry
