Air accident investigators have concluded a plane crash that seriously injured several senior officials of Swindon Town football club, was caused by the aircraft running out of fuel.   It came down near a golf course close to Denham Aerodrome in Buckinghamshire.  The club's chief executive, and a major investor were on board

 Serious error on somebodies part then. I guess to some extent most air accidents are preventable but the cause of this one is a bit bloody fundamental.

What's done is done and I at least those affected can get on with their lives, hopefully having made a (near) full recovery.

Mark D has just been on the radio talking about it. He still gets aches and pains apparently but is getting over the whole ordeal slowly...

Im glad everyone is ok and now they can all move on but anyone else see the irony in the Swindon board (at the time) not being able to afford the fuel Wink

Like i said im glad they are all fine and hopefully we can see them at the club very soon

The plane crash is one of the features on the BBC1 lunchtime news, 1.00-1.30pm.

Jesus, ran out of fuel?

I'd of thought the pilots licence would be revoked if that is the case. That's one major fuck up, although no doubt the pilot is very much aware of his error and if his injuries were bad, i expect he was unable to keep his flight times up and maybe had to retake his test anyway.

I have pilots in the family of both commercial aircraft and private aircraft, i know what proud people pilots are, and also how seriously they take their responsibilities, it's quite surprising that that's the reason.

Shocked The Pilot like his passengers had been drinking but it is not seen as a major factor in the accident

I raised my eye brows at that revelation.

I've always said i drive better when i'm pissed up though, maybe the same is true of pilots.

Two half-drunk pilots = one sober one. Better than nothing.....
