Interesting Times
As I see it the takeover has stalled – if it was all sorted / agreed it would have happened by now and the three Amigos being noticeably missing yesterday backs this up. These persons would be there if things were running along – not being there is a clear sign they are not. So what’s going on? My guess it’s from the following list.
a)Best holdings / the three Amigos have uncovered something that they don’t like in the club / accounts / deal and are re-negotiating it. b)Or more likely they are engaged in an act of brinkmanship over the price they have to pay. Very probable c)Diamond Mike Is trying to re-negotiate the deal at the last moment to try to obtain a better personal deal / influence – perhaps after getting wind of the fact that they will all be fired/pushed out! Chance would be a fine thing! d)Seton/James Wills is having a wobble or has heard something they don’t like. e)The legal beagles have reported something about the probable success of Bill Powers pay back that they don’t like/ have not bargained for. f)Best holdings finance deal has been hit by the credit crunch – especially in the states – remember Little is a US of A man.
My take is that Best Holdings is trying to do a re-deal. They have already committed the club to spend over the odds on a top heavy expensive squad and left the present regime paying the bills with the CVA and Bill Power still to pay out. Now then that’s a tidy position to be in especially if Bill Power has left the scene and they are the only suitors.
Diamond Mike is slippery but remember nobody even knows who the other lot are let alone there likely ethical business stance. Perhaps retzinas about to be shafted – Shame
Lets just hope all this greed and tomfoolery leaves us with a club to support. I can’t help thinking about the 900K CVA that needs to be settled in hard cash now. The Revenue/Swindon and all the other creditors have every right to have expected payment a long time ago.
Great result yesterday – how long ago was it that we won 4/1 up?

A spanner in the works in a deal involving Diamond Mike. WHAT A FUCKING SUPRISE! Bet thats never happened before.
As for 4-1, Leroy mentioned on MOS last league 4-1 win was scum at home 1998 odd. Cup wins against Sheff Weds and Ilkeston since.

was anyone else stupid enough to buy the program expecting the takeover to be explained in detail within the pages?

According to Swindon-Town-fc.com that was our 56th 4-1 league scoreline...by my estimate 26 of them have happened in my time of watching , of which I've seen 20. 5 of those have occured away from home of which I've sen 2 at Bormuff and Wovers....missed the win at Pompey in 64, Hull in 89 Ipswich in 91.

These times were interesting, but it's getting to the point where I was wish I was doing a degree in the visual comparisons of drying paint and boiling kettles.

Boiling kettles are much more stimulating than paint drying because of the noise and steam and you can even get a whistle!!Trouble is the excitement is all over in a few minutes. You'll be used to that though.
