Whats worse are the people who, when you tell them you support swindon, say "why? They're shit!!"

Or, because I moved away from Swindon years ago, people (work colleagues or relatives who in fairness don't really 'do' football) will quite innocently ask "Why don't you support another team so you don't have to travel so far?"

"Well what a marvellous idea, why didn't I think of that one? Thank you so, so much Aunty Flo, you really are a fucking stand up bird!"

In reality I just ignore them

People have learnt not to use that little nugget of wisdom on me anymore.

People who ask questions about why you support lower league teams just don't get it. End of. There's no way of winning

Point is that guy is from South Africa, he might support his local team also.

Don't you support an American Football team Leggett? Why not a British one?

I remember taking my cousin who is a manc' to a home swindon game (Oldham) when we were in the premier and we were on the bank and he just couldn't believe the amount of young lads that had Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd shirts on. I couldn't explain it even then, but I did feel embarressed about it.

There seems to be more Liverpool fans in Swindon than any other Premiership side these days.

Since the CL Final in Istanbul i think most people jumped onto the Merseyside bandwagon.  :?

That is quite true. I know quite a few Liverpool fans who live in Swindon.

We have them down here, at college everybody wearing a Liverpool shirt the day after the final. Some of the comments were 'I turned the TV off at 3-0 and was shocked to see we had won'.
Fucking twats, typical Liverpool fans come from everywhere except.

I remmember the Man United fans starting to appear in about 1992. Whilst it is true that Man Utd have always had rock solid support, their southern fans were nowhere to be found before then.

Liverpool have been everywhere ever since I can remmember. They seem to be the more acceptable face of southerners glory supporting. Its always enjoyable to ask them what difference there is between themselves and southern Man United fans. All the same bollocks to me.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been ripe with southerners for over a decade. Next clubs in line to get the influx would seem to be Manchester City (who have totally lost their way as supporters) and Newcastle (who were always vastly overrated anyway). The fact that Leeds United's attendances have halfed in 5 years says a lot about where those extra 20,000 supporters came from. How many Leeds do you see about down south now?

Up north Everton are still proper.

Hope football becomes unfashionable again soon.

RONALDO ON HIS WAY?
Hi Guillem, I'm a big fan of Man Utd and very worried about Cristiano Ronaldo's situation. Do you think he will move to Barca or Real Madrid? While Xavi, who might be involved in a swap deal, would he suit our style of play? Regards, Sakhile Khnayile,RSA

another fine manchester name there. fucking joke of a football club.

sorry bartek and chubbs you're only allowed to follow clubs in your own countries now

To be honest I think its on the way - certainly at premiership level anyway.

Even If I'd been lifelong Chelsea (thankfully not) I'm fucked if I'd fork out £50 a ticket to watch a dull team, knowing that a large portion of my disposable income was going into the back pockets of "£130k a week cunty bollocks Ballack."

Haven't Chelsea agreed to freeze ticket prices now?

I don't see why it matters to be honest because
a) they still charge stupid amounts
b) they have all the money they want anyway even if no fans turn up!

Nothing more than a marketing scam if you ask me
