i read an interview with the lead singer bird of the gossip, she made way too much of the fact people dislike her because she's fat and a lesbian, as if she's trying to get your sympathy vote. just annoyed me, alot. the music's not terrible, its just not my cup of tea.

the new bloc party album is quite good, not as good as silent alarm, but still a good listen!!!

p.s cooper temple clause deserve aids.

They were on Zane Lowe Last nite and it was pretty good. I do like their new single. I also like the Klaxons new song Golden Skans.

Bloc Party are ace  Cool Silent alarm was a great album by all accounts. the new one will have to be good to live up to that but im confident (having heard their new single) that it will be!

i have no time for the view though! they are a band i really hate! i know that has nothing to do with this thread but just thought id say it  Cheesy

Beth Ditto's got a fantastic voice. The problem is that the band are just a bit shit.

The Good, The Bad, The Queen's album is pretty good, not amazing but it's a proper album, not just a bunch of catchy tunes or singles thrown together. And it was produced by Dangermouse.

i just got these two little beauties:

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Arts/Arts_/Pictures/2007/01/25/TheShins.jpg
"wincing the night away" by the shins. officially catchier than man flu.

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Music/Pix/pictures/2007/01/04/candylion.jpg
"candylion" by gruff rhys (super furries front man) - every bit as lovely as i thought it would be. features a 14 minute epic about a very eventful transatlantic flight (though it does sound a bit like the velvet underground's sister ray...)
