This is really starting to get a bit silly now. All these tit for tat statements are not going to help the promotion push and the inclusion of Paul Sturrock (at the moment) as part of the meeting before the Macclesfield game are starting to involve the wrong people. That includes all of us as well in a way.
Its about time the Board ( All of them for a change, no representatives) Bill,Phil and the Trust and both parties lawyers to sit in room together and really start to get down to business. We have this to offer, we would need these details etc, etc.
It seems they ( the board ) have a dislike to the trust being involved in the takeover bid. Now this could be about how it has been conducted so far or maybe against the personnel involved, I just dont know.
Maybe the Board would rather deal with Bill and Phil alone and the trust become involved after it has gone through. All I do know is that if something doesn't change soon this is going to drag on and on and probably affect the team and then if we (please god no) dont go up it will be a case of, its the boards fault for not getting out and the board saying its the consortiums fault for upsetting the club.
PLEASE somebody do something quick.
Thats it, rant over...................................for now anyway.

we should indeed all push for them to get into a room together.

I have no doubt that Wilkes and a Trust Board members and someone representing the money men could and would attend a meeting with SSW, James Wills and the lawyers.

What has that got to do with anything?

Precisely Batch, my intial reluctance about a fan led club was due to the problems encountered at other clubs.  However ours isn't fan led, its business led, fans should IMHO have board representation as a forum for expressing ideas and opinions, but this group of investors (Power et al) are football fans but very much business men, with genuine financial clout.  If they put a fan on the board that's even better, but if you look at the details this really isn't a fan takeover, it's a fan backed takeover.

The message of what this takeover entails is clearly lost even to some of the more intelligent posters.

Some people clearly equate the bid as a "fans takeover" of the trust running the club. They won't be, and with all due respect I think that is a good thing. I have 100% confidence in the Trust and their personnel, but they are not equpped to run the club.  In my head it also cunjures up images of Paul D sitting in a big black swivel chair stroking a cat for some bizaare reason.

Eemperors new clothes then? Not at all. For me the consortium have a very good chance at getting this club moving forward with proper fan representation. The board misslead the fans, holds its own supporters with contempt and fails to deliver year upon year. This could cost us our club.

So do I - hence as explained to hertha on t'other thread why we've not characterised it as a "fans' takeover" (although others have) but as a "fans' consortium". Again the point's made in the Fans Consortium Q&A at http://www.truststfc.co.uk/fc_manifesto.php, but what we are proposing is not a Brentford-style "fans takeover" but a combination of the traditional businessmen with cash to invest, but with heavy fans' input both in the bid itself and in the subsequent running of the club. In other words, we're getting the best of both worlds.

Cheesy I quite like that image, although could I change it to a small dog? And do I get a collapsible bridge over a piranha pond as well?
