Had my courtcase this morning... 2 yr ban (possibly down to 18 month if I do rehab) plus £500 fine. Result! Am over the moon with that one. Miraculously escaped community service.
Now, with no car over the summer, plus an incredibly long summer holiday to look forward, I was thinking of trying to work abroad. Did anyone do anything like this at uni? Anyone got a clue where to start? I've looked into Camp America but that looks a bit tame, plus it doesn't exactly earn you much cash. I was thinking of going to Oz but now I've got a record, maybe that's off the cards?!

Camp america are pretty strict, and the states in general is significantly harder to get a working visa for than Oz, especially with a record. No work abroad earns a fat crust as most jobs pay subsistence, because being abroad makes them attractive enough as it is. If getting a work visa is hard havign a record, try looking in the EU, there's gotta be some basic work in Europe somewhere, even dull campsite work in SOuthern France or the such like. Maybe you could be a holiday rep, 18-30s anyone?

That's a good result for you Walrus, though I was looking forward to your tales of being bum raped in gaol.

Bit of a result indeed Walrus.
I'd head to Eastern Europe for a bit of English teaching in colleges. Plenty of flange, accom usually provided and your grub too.

Id go to the south of france and get a job on a boat - pretty much tax free if you're not in a port and might keep you out of trouble for a while. Try www.gumtree.com - loads of seasonal work.

I wouldn't bother with America unless the 'Company' covers your medical expenses. Some of the costs would make your eyes water. The Authorities are starting to clamp down on immigrant workers who contribute nothing to the state as well. Good destination if you want a long-term deal, but I'd forget it if your intent is seasonal, so to speak.
