yeah looks like he could play a part in the ashes if he doesn't suffer after effects of the injury like he did last time he came back. talk of him returning for the 4th test in Melbourne. we badly need him back too! my only worry is that the 4th test will be too late.........

The 4th test seems right, but if that does not work he will be back for the VB Series which then will lead up to the World Cup in the Carribean.

His score is irrelevant to be honest, just needs to get back to full fitness.

But he's not going to get back much fitness walking to and from the wicket.

I hope he gets some proper batting time under his belt before he plays an Ashes test.

Just like Harmison's lack of overs before this Ashes was irrelevant? hmmmmmmmm

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, Vaughan apart from Australia last time round has struggled with the Bat, his presence on the field is needed more than ever.

Look at The Ashes series 18 months ago, Vaughan's captaincy was far superior to that of Ponting.

He outclassed Ponting in the captaincy. Setting those clever fields for matty hayden and Adam gilchrist.

I'd rather have him in-form with the blade, than not. Fair enough, he came up with some great field placments last time around, but if our bowlers continue to bowl like numptys, it's not going to help

its not Vaughan's batting i care about. we need him back because as a captain he is so much better than Freddie or Strauss. just having him in the side improves us dramatically. have you not noticed how poor we have been in the year he hasn't played for? just proves the point really
