Evans reveals Clarke role
Blackpool capture Rhys Evans has revealed how Peter Clarke played a key role in his switch to Bloomfield Road.
Goalkeeper Evans, 24, will join the Seasiders on a free transfer from Swindon when his contract expires on July 1.
And it was Blackpool skipper Clarke who proved instrumental in the free transfer move.
The pair have remained firm friends from their England youth team days and Evans said: "I had a phone call from Peter Clarke after the last game of the season and he asked me what I was doing.
"I told him I was out of contract and waiting for an improved offer from Swindon. Clarkey asked if I'd be interested in speaking to Simon Grayson and I said, 'of course I would' - I'd be silly not to talk to people.
"I spoke to Simon on the phone a couple of times and was keen to come up and meet him and it progressed from there."
So, everything in his first month in Blackpool must have been brilliant, he's FINALLY playing football again with his buddy.
Well, Clarke must have liked Rhys in small doses... Because he's legged it!
