wot a shite atmosphere....host nation and the best you get out em is some moronic clapping and the occasional ooooo aaaaa! v german v not english. looks like the genuine costa ricans get a tiny fraction of tickets thus destroying the atmosphere all i can see is an army of suits and sponsors...lets hope england raises the roof and takes over this tournament.

Atmosphere aside, I'm worried that the Germans already look handy.

yeah but you could level that one at brazil or france etc etc

our over-focus on rooney and shocking warm-up efforts coupled with a bizarre squad mean i'm still not convinved

Some decent goals but the general quality was poor. If Germany are to do well they will have to defend a hell of a lot better than that. Home advantage means you can't rule them out but otherwise they wouldn't have a chance.

Shocking warm up efforts Dave....what an easy 3-1 against Hungary and even easier 6-0 against Jamaica, it's not exactly shockingly bad is it.

maybe so but both goals they conceded were down to piss poor defending. not  even costa rica's defending was that bad.

Looked pretty evident to me that Germany will rely on the long range efforts and if they get two right every match then yep they'll do alright! But against a better team Germany will be exploited at the back.

But Germany failed to finish off a poorer team which is what England do all the time!
