Bodin missed against Romania at the arms park, I think it was the same year he scored the winner at Wembley for us.

Perhaps the question should have been which Swindon Town players. Barlow was definitely a Swindon lad as he played local league football.

You can find different sites which give different birthplaces for Ashton, Rothman's which is regarded as the most reliable guide gives it as Crewe. Either way...ihe was brought up around Crewe.

I don't think Dean Ashton has any more of a Swindon connection than Saddam Hussein!

That really is one of your pet hates isn't Reg? He was actualy born here but moved to Holmes Chapel just outside Crewe when he was a nipper I think.

Because a couple of sites say he was born in Swindon, people then assume he was playing youth football in Swindon and somehow we failed to notice.

Did Ben Thatcher and Darren Eadie grow up in the surrounding area? Thatcher was on our books, Eadie we tried to sign but he preferred Norwich.

my comment was more based on our ability to fuck up given any opportunity - although if the opportunity was never there its the same result. Just found it interesting really.
