....yesterday was the first time in just about 50 years that we've conceded 7 goals at this level of football.

The last time it happened in 56/57, we must have been seriously shite as we did it 3 times, at Torquay, Shrewsbury and Bormuff.

We finished safely in a relegation place, with only Norwich propping up the div.....but there was no relegation so it was an application for re-election.

Bert Head took over part way through the season and went on to one of our great managers.....

Home form was pretty decent and Bob Edwards scored 25 goals, quite impressive in a struggling side.

Those of us that remember Div 4 in the 80's know there is a level of football below this one...and it is worse.

You need to do something about it.....it lacks depth and conviction....a more heartfelt plunge into a slough of despond maybe worth considering.

Your disposition still carries the hallmarks of youthful optimism....a more elongated attachment to STFC should grind that out of you.

 But overall you show promise.

Next season could be the lowest we've been since I've been alive.

I remember 7-0 at Bolton, that was horrible.

I started watching us in the early eighties Reg, which I think has provided me with a sound grounding in STFC, i.e it can always get worse.  However I remain blindly optimistic, which is a bit of a bugger because I clearly suffer more dissapointment than a pessimist would.

What worries me is that the standard of football then in Div 4 was so poor, it was relatively easy to escape by promotion.
Now, from what I've seen, the League below us is very little different, and hard to escape from. Most of the teams seem to have busy, scrapping midfields which we can't seem to get together here. Or am I wrong Reg? (And others).
Wish I was wrong, but I can see the slough of despond, and sliding, sliding, down in to the valley of Death, but rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the funeral pyre, to renew youth through another cycle.
