Title: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Nemo on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:15:42 Up with this sort of thing.
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:21:35 I may vote none of the above as they all deserved it! or is that not how this thing works?
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: adje on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:24:09 So many candidates. Cotterill showing that he can indeed perform in that role. Wright a real captain's performance.Glatzel tireless up front and a deserved goal. Freckles his best game so far but I've gone for Sobo, brilliant in 2 positions
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: RedRag on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:24:41 A massively improved creative performance from the midfielders and Glatz ought to have been MOM but just didn't quite finish.
I can do no more than follow our match sponsors: Clean sheet in the 1st half thanks to a vital block, tidy and strong throughout and no anxiety in the 2nd half: Sobowale step forward. Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: adje on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:25:40 I may vote none of the above as they all deserved it! or is that not how this thing works? 😂Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Super Hans on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:26:24 Sobo for me. Very good today - they all were!
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:27:43 Glatz for me, he has looked a shadow of himself in most games so far but he made so much happen today and was so unlucky not to have got 4 or 5 goals.
Thats not taking anything away from Sobowale, Cotterill, Kilkenny, Wright, Freckleton and King who all played really well, nobody had an off day. Even the subs all played their part. Long may that continue. Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Robinz on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:27:55 Cox is a class act and would get my vote... although only for 45 minutes.
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 13:29:28 Cox is a class act and would get my vote... although only for 45 minutes. He did put in a couple of lovely crosses again today, if he lasted past an hour he could well have been on the list of best players today for sure.Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: swindonmaniac on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 14:46:56 Glatzel for me closely followed by Subowale. Great team effort.
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: TheDukeOfBanbury on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 16:12:08 Sobowale for me.
Outstanding. Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Boydy on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 16:32:39 Sobawale's block was literally game changing.
He was absolutely fantastic both at CB & WB today. Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Posh Red on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 16:53:39 Sobawale's block was literally game changing. He was absolutely fantastic both at CB & WB today. This, if the game had gone 1-1 at that point who knows how it ends Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: RJack on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 18:20:37 Sobo for me but every player deserves credit. We looked like we had a game plan today
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: magicroundabout on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 20:54:45 Hard to decide for me. Kilkenny, Sobowale, Cox, Cotterill. Hard to choose just one.
But if I have too Kilkenny for me with Sobowale close second Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: jayohaitchenn on Sunday, September 15, 2024, 10:19:31 Sobawale's block was literally game changing. He was absolutely fantastic both at CB & WB today. That block at 1 - 0 was superb Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: SwindonCoops on Monday, September 16, 2024, 08:36:28 As others have said, it's tricky ( and a nice change! ) to single any player out as there was decent quality and performance across the park. Sobowale for me, but with honourable mentions from at least three other players.
Title: Re: Swindon v Newport MotM Thread Post by: Pericardinho on Monday, September 16, 2024, 09:41:11 Sobowale by a country mile. Won all his duels. Drove forward well with the ball. Vital last ditch challenge.
It's nice to have somebody who prioritises defending first and foremost. UGM was a fantastic player and a bright spark last year, but was very vulnerable defensively. Right centre back could he his to lose now. It utilises his strengths perfectly. Agree with this - at times he was covering the left wing too so leaves us less vulnerable if Freckleton or Wright push up. |
