depends what you mean by jailbreak?

the developer options can still be enabled so you can still turn on  'install from unknown sources' and install apps  from (eg) via downloader. I did this 2 weeks ago on a new 4k max stick

I’ve always used Downloader for 3rd party apps. But there are plenty of cheap iptv packages that cover just about everything.

One app I would recommend, though, is Cinema - Netflix for nothing!

This is what I have just bought - how is the quality of the IPTV streams (I’ve got a 75” screen with a Denon AVR 4K upscaler so even if they are a bit blurred it comes through sharp

I pay £60 a year for everything apart from Netflix.
Very seldom drops out and just change your page and it's working again.
Watched the pay offs this week and the champions league I don't mind £60 for the year considering my old sky subscription for everything was over £100 a month

What quality Firestick do you have?

I use a z-nano box for iptv

4k amazon thing. Came loaded for £110 then £60 each year after. The only downside is I've got some for mates whose home broadband isn't very powerful and they say it buffers a fair bit. We have super quick broadband and ours works fine.

Be aware that buffering is not always a sign of a poor broadband speed but also the speed of the servers which can be erratic to say the least with things like IPTV, very hit and miss.

The buffering due to insufficient broadband speed is probably only accountable for 25% of the buffering issues, often its the IPTV providers themselves that cause many issues by not allowing enough capacity on their own servers.

I bought the 4K max version as I have ORBI 6 wifi through and a 1000mb internet connection so it will be interesting to see if buffering occurs 👍

the stands are susceptible to jitter and packet loss imo but I was on the of my 5ghz range.

60 / year is the standard membership charge.

Some sellers will/can offer it cheaper but usually without pre-loading.

You then get sent instructions and it can be a bit of faffing about if you don't know what you're doing.

What? you aren't paying for the Jailbreak. You're paying for an IPTV / Flix membership. Which has absolutely everything you'd ever want all in one place. Not having to download various different apps etc.

For TV and film I find Kodi with a real debrid account the best.

For IPTV I use a Shield TV Pro and the Tivimate app. I only have one 4k channel on my IPTV but it works well with this setup on 150mb broadband via ethernet.

Kodi interface isn't great but it's a decent video player. Tried cinema HD but didn't like it, Kodi is much better for me plus I can have it on PC and android box set up the same. Definitely need a Real Debrid sub though to get decent links.

There's loads of apps out there for this purpose but I always go back to Kodi.

I always found Kodi to be a buffering nightmare - albeit 4 or 5 years ago. Cinema can be a pain searching for stuff, but there’s an awful lot of stuff.

Don’t know why people bother with Netflix if they are into movies - there’s very little worth watching that’s anywhere near up to date.

Its more about the series these days. I have access through other methods but had kept it on for the family.

90% of ones I've pre-loaded have just been fire stick lite's. They're about £35. Work perfectly fine.

Few people have requested ultra 4k.

Any TV with a USB Drive? I'm asking as such because am I right in thinking that the Firestick/similar only needs the WiFi/Hotspot/Data/Broadband/Fibre signal. Basically I'm asking if any modernish monitor would be fine to plug into?

Also, DV asks a good question and how is it easier with a TV than via a laptop?

Finally, does this include overseas networks {esp US} like AMC, HBO, Max, etc? I'm not fussed if I have to use a VPN but curious if the sticks are loaded with those types of channels too?  :hmmm:

As far as I know you plug it in the TV then use the Firestick remote to access all channels

The firestick plugs into a standard HDMI port which outputs video/sound. It connects to the internet via WiFi. Presumably, Pericardinho then side loads a dodgy app + VPN which shows you the footy etc

Yeah I gathered that was/is how they work...so what does it matter the hardware in terms of screen/monitor/TV/laptop? Surely as long as your screen can access the external HDMI channel then the stick does the rest via WiFi and remote no?  :)

HDMI ports are not the same on laptops as they are on tv’s or computer monitors.

Not all of them. I'd say it's more the other way round in terms of HDMI blocking with modern Samsung TVs/Devices but I was just curious. Plus, could you answer the other questions please? Thanks  :)

Majority of laptops are HDMI output only. You'll need a video capturing device to make it work. That's what I mean about TV or monitor being easier. It's less faffing about.

Not that its relevant but do you sort it out or contact someone else as colleagues at work have had issues in the past when the Firestick has played up hence me asking earlier if you ever get any problems throughout the 12 month contract?

They are pre-loaded, vpn'ed and posted 100% by myself and you get my contact number for any issues.

Obviously, it goes without saying that I'll just be relaying info given to me by the people who actually run the software.

I got my stick a 4k one off Amazon and there was a bloke on the STFC facebook fans page that charged me £45 to have it loaded with everything. That was back in February and it’s been spot on to be fair. No more paying Sky a ridiculous £100+ a month.

Yeah it's a no brainer. Even watching a couple of boxing PPV's or 6 Swindon games and you've already made your money back. And that's not even including not having to pay for Sky, BT or Amazon etc.

Amazon Prime day over the next couple of days, so get your Amazon fire sticks at a discounted price (probably)

Never quite sure tbh. It’s called Gold but could have chosen any name. I’ve tried a couple of US based providers but wasn’t impressed.

In my experience, its worth paying a bit more for the 4k Max sticks, far more responsive.

Now sorted out 6 members here with Firesticks. All posted with no payment up front until tested and happy.

If anybody else wants one before the football season kicks off let me know!

I can't speak for other services. All I can say is, Flix provides every TV channel, Series and Movie. Every PPV. Every Ifollow game.
