A cracking series of interviews.  I didn't know an awful lot about this period, so it was great to hear from those involved.

Interesting links there.  Thanks for posting.

The link below contains a film - up on the Board several times now - but it's still a great film covering  one week out of our historic, first season up in the old Division 2 (tier 2).

So very much the same characters one year on.

The bribery scandal and Peter Swann of Sheffield Wednesday are mentioned in the second episode.  After serving his time at "Her Majesty's Pleasure", Swann is playing center-half for Sheffield Wednesday in an evening game at the County Ground.  Respect was shown by the Town End by chanting "Criminal, Criminal Criminal", every time he touched the ball. The Town won with Don Rogers leading the charge. Besides thinking that the Town End were somewhat cruel, I wonder if Sir Don, John Trollope etc. remember that night.

I remember so much about that year - I could go on and on. But I particularly remember October 1962. When I took the dog for a walk before school, although not a believer, I prayed each day that 'The Town' would win their next game. But in October 1962, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I switched allegiance for a while to the cause of world peace. I can't recall whether the team's form deteriorated in the autumn of '62.
